Highlights

Overview

Nar Phu, situated on the northside of Manang, an ethnically and influenced by Tibetan Buddhist culture, is one of the best remote, isolated, and spectacularly beautiful trekking routes where we meet fewer trekkers than many of Nepal's trekking routes. The inhabitants of Nar Phu have traded with Tibet for centuries and have lived an isolated existence at the frontier of Nepal's Himalayan regions. Phu is a fortified village perched on a hilltop at the intersection of starkly beautiful glacial valleys, backed by high Himalayan peaks. Nar is a fascinating, bustling village of slightly more modern 'Bhotias', or Nepali Tibetans, with an interesting rooftop culture. Where we will find beautiful villages with Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and a great opportunity to immerse ourselves in traditional Himalayan village culture.
Finally, we cross the beautiful Kang-La pass of 5,322 m and back to Ngawal, which takes us to the normal Annapurna circuit trail to Manang. We continue our trail to cross another famous Thorong La Pass to Muktinath, the famous temple of salvation for Hindus and Buddhists, surrounded by the Annapurna range, Chulus, the majestic Gangapurna, Dhaulagiri, etc. Once past the pilgrimage site of Muktinath, we trek back to Jomsom, and we fly back to Pokhara with the most spectacular mountain flights through the world's deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki River, which flows between Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri. At the end, we visit Lakeside in Pokhara, one of Kathmandu's historic World Heritage Sites.

Trip Itinerary

The flight into the Himalayas offers breathtaking views of the major peaks Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Mt. Ganesh (7,422 m), Mt. Purbi Chhyachu (6,637 m), Mt. Langtang (7,227 m), etc. (weather permitting), taking you directly into the Himalayan capital of Kathmandu. After immigration formality on arrival, as you exit the airport terminal you will be greeted and welcome by a Sampurna Adventure personal & transferred to your hotel, Spend the rest of the day at leisure for personal activities following your program briefing or you may familiarize with the narrow lively, and endless streets around Thamel town (Touristic center), where you will find all kinds of good restaurants, ATMs and exchange money, full of typical Nepali handicrafts, fine jewelry, clothing, and trekking gear stores.
