- Mustang – LO Manthang Trek

Trip Info
Introduction
The trekking to Kingdom of Mustang – Lo Manthang is remote and forbidden to outside world until October 1991 to protect their environment, Lying behind the main Himalayan range in the rain shadow area, Mustang juts out into the Tibetan Plateau north of Jomsom and Pokhara which is an unforgettable experience. Being under the rain shadow of the Himalayas, the area receives scanty rainfall making the region dry and arid-very similar to the adjoining Tibetan plateau. The trek to Lo-Manthang is through an almost tree-less barren landscape, a steep rocky trail up and down hill and panoramic views of Mt. Annapurna, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri and several other peaks make your trek memorable.
It is the high mountain desert region influenced by Tibetan, from the southern Tibetan border to Kagbeni is generally referred to as “Upper Mustang" that has its own nominal king. In the capital of Lo Manthang, an old walled town undisturbed and untouched by modern civilization, life goes on as it has for centuries. With numerous Gompa, eternal ritual, a trip into Mustang is bound to be one of self-realization inspired by the all-encompassing teachings of Tibetan Buddhism.
Arrive in Kathmandu, the medieval capital city of Nepal, the unique historic architecture, cultural diversification of Hindus & Buddhist Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple and the great Stupa Boudhanath with sacred monasteries and so on.
After preparation for trekking to Mustang, you will fly to Jomsom, and start trek to Kagbeni, Ghami, Tsarang, Tetang to Muktinath.
