Overview

Helambu Trek offers great views of Chisapani, Kutumsang, Tarkeghyang, Sermathang, and Melamchi village in a semi-tropical valley that lies to the north of Kathmandú, an area inhabited by the Sherpa. This middle-hill Sherpa village is rich in the vivid contrast of Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist cultures. The language, culture, and attire of the Sherpa of this Helambu region are different from those inhabiting Solukhumbu.
In the beginning, visit historic and cultural places such as Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan and Bhaktapur, Pashupatinath temple, and Boudhanath with sacred monasteries. This is the first step in organizing to see Mt. Everest and the Himalayan range for you, your family, and friends.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

The flight into the Himalayas offers breathtaking views of the major peaks Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Mt. Ganesh (7,422 m), Mt. Purbi Chhyachu (6,637 m), Mt. Langtang (7,227 m), etc. (weather permitting), taking you directly into the Himalayan capital of Kathmandu. After immigration formality on arrival, as you exit the airport terminal you will be greeted and welcome by a Sampurna Adventure personal & transferred to your hotel, Spend the rest of the day at leisure for personal activities following your program briefing or you may familiarize with the narrow lively, and endless streets around Thamel town (Touristic center), where you will find all kinds of good restaurants, ATMs and exchange money, full of typical Nepali handicrafts, fine jewelry, clothing, and trekking gear stores.

Day 2 : Visit: Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu, and Patan/Lalitpur

Visit Swoyambhunath Stupa with its 2,500-year history. Later visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residence, Kasthamandap, Mahadev & Parvati Temple, Kumari palace sacred for Buddhists and Hindus and bazaars. In the afternoon, visit Patan Durbar Square, the old Newar City with the Golden Gate, the Temple of Taleju, Golden Temple and surrounding beautiful monument, 

Day 3 : Drive to Sundarijal trek Chisapani: 2,194 m.

The trail will enter through the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The first settlement you will come across is Mulkharka with Tamang habitants. The route heads down the ridge through a forest of oaks and rhododendron to Chisapani (2300m.) 

Day 4 : Trekking: Chisapani to Kutumsang 2,470 m.

Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang (2440 m) Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang would require around six hours. Start with descend to Pati Bhanjyang and with some ascend/descent along the way we reach Kutumsang. 

Day 5 : Trekking: Kutumsang to Tharepati (3,597 m)

Today we will climb 1200 meters to Tharepati (3597 meters). The highest point of our trail. At the beginning we reach the Yurin Danda ridgeline. We will pass across solitary farms on the route, these farms are surrounded by fir and rhododendron trees. 

As we continue, we also get our first glimpses of the Langtang range, Gosaikunda peak, and Jugal Himal. We continue our ascent through some eroded trails to Mera Danda. Then we will descend to Mangi Goth, a little village. We will eventually reach Tharepati after hiking past the Thare Danda ridge. The Langtang Ranges' most breathtaking panoramic vistas be seen from Tharepati.

Day 6 : Trekking: Tharepati to Tarkeghyang (2740 m)

Starting with some descend up to Melamchi stream the trail gently climb to Tarkeghyang. Tarkeghyang, also known as Helambu, is a beautiful Sherpa village with one of the big and oldest monasteries in Nepal.  

Day 7 : Trekking: Tarkeghyang to Sermathang (2,590 m)

Trek from Tarkeghyang to Sermathang (2,590 m) approximately four hours easy walk-through wide valley passing through forest and streams. Sermathang is the beautiful village with a Buddhist monastery.

Day 8 : Trekking: Sermathang to Melamchi Pul – Kathmandu

Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Pool Bazaar (850 m) 

After having breakfast in the morning, we travel along a gravel road from Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Lamidanda and then follow the road trip to Kathmandu.

Day 9 : In Kathmandu

Free day for personal activities, we can explore the narrow lively and endless streets of Thamel town where we will find all kinds of good restaurants, full of typical Nepali handicraft, fine jewelry, clothing and trekking gear store, 

In the evening, a Nepali farewell dinner, we rejoice and express our gratitude to our Sherpa team who accompanied us to make our great trip in the Himalaya successful!! 

Day 11 : Final departure: Kathmandu to the city of origin

Breakfast, in the morning free for personal activities, later at the arranged time, transfer to the airport for final departure to connect onward flight. We wish you have a safe flight and hope to serve you back in near future. End of Service.
